An extension of the Azores High will once again bring mostly sunny and very warm to hot summer weather on Saturday. Afternoon or evening showers / thunderstorms are possible, especially towards the main ridge and on the southern side of the Alps. Many regions will remain thunderstorm-free. On Sunday, we will enter the sphere of influence of a so-called trough, which will bring increasingly changeable weather. It will initially remain friendly and summery warm before gradually becoming cooler with the onset of rain and thunderstorms. Unstable and noticeably cooler low-pressure weather will prevail at the beginning of the new week. There will be more downpours and the snow line in the mountains will gradually drop to around 2500 meters above sea level or even below (especially on Tuesday). The weather situation will stabilize and it should slowly become warmer again from the middle of the week. Summer will really pick up speed in the second half of the week.
