Description
The Bike&Hike tour starts in the village center of Kappl at the information office of the tourism association. With the bike, you first ride into the valley along a road in the direction of Ischgl. At the level of the hamlet Wiese, this road leads into a forest path. Follow the path uphill in wide bends, past the Ruhestein chapel and into the Seßladtal valley. The traditional Untere Seßladalpe at just under 2,000 m is a good place to stop for a break. Here you can also leave your bike safely in the bike depot. Afterwards, the hike leads on foot in the direction of Niederelbehütte (2,300 m). At the level of the Seßsee, the hiking trail branches off. On the difficult mountain trail, it goes along the Schwarzsee to the Kreuzjochspitze (2,919 m). Up here you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountain peaks.
Tip: Since this is a narrow and exposed mountain trail, you should definitely bring surefootedness, a head for heights as well as experience in alpine terrain for the hike.
Arrival
The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.
Parking
Underground parking at the community center.
Further parking in Kappl village at the Pardeck (opposite Camren's Pizzagrill) or below the bakery Wechner.
Public transport
With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Kappl Dorf
